The BWH Chapter of the Association of Multicultural Members of Partners recently honored 11 scholarship recipients at a luncheon and ceremony. The 2004 scholars included Angela Covington, Gloria Castro, Helen I. Sanders, Jeanette Merren, Latalia Graham, Michael Bailey, Nell Saab, Renee Joyner, Samantha Everton, Shelly Watts-Dognazzi and Smriti Malik.
The presentation included remarks from Gary Gottlieb, BWH president, and Cheryl Locke, vice president, Human Resources. “One of the most important missions that makes our hospital so unique is diversity,” said Gottlieb. “AMMP is a special organization that reaches out to and welcomes all employees, to enrich the base of our community each day.”
“This organization celebrates the variety of people we have at BWH,” said Locke as she addressed the recipients. “You show exemplary commitment to learning and growing from each other, your various colleagues, and our patients.”
AMMP is open to all Partners employees who are interested in the advancement of multicultural leadership roles within the organization. AMMP seeks to achieve this mission in many ways, including educational scholarships, job fairs and seminars. For more information or to learn how to get involved, call ext. 2-8595.
